Okay, so I quit writing about the Amazing Race. Why? I admit it. I simply got pissed off when Margie and Luke got eliminated. I stopped watching it. I was in a huff.

Recently, however, I came out of my little (little?) strop and binged on all of the episodes I hadn’t watched.

It’s funny how every Season 14er was either one of the first teams to go, or the winner. I’ve got to say, as far as “Unfinished Business” goes, I think Kisha and Jen (especially Jen) finally got to finish their business. Their consistency made them a very deserving team, and although I was desperately supporting Gary and Mallory, I’m glad to see these girls take the title.

I also seem to hold grudges for far longer than I ever expected I would. I still could not be happy that Flight Time and Big Easy made it to the final. I had hoped they’d crash out in 4th place. Again. But the made it to an admirable second place finish, trumping Gary and Mallory. Maybe yet we will have a parent/child combo win the race!

And so, to satisfy my addiction for the race I’m now following the Australian rendition, which I’m glad to see hasn’t been stuck in it’s origin country like I feared it might. I can’t imagine what the British would do should they ever make a version of the Race. On one hand, I’d want to enter instantly, on the other, I’d very much like to tell the producers how it should be done.

Another Race over and I already look forward to Season 19 for a host of fresh faces and amazing locations. What will I ever do if the Race is cut?!

I so wish they could’ve gotten further! I’m just going to be a sulk now! :(

Okay, so while I try to review an entire leg, I’m going fail horribly right now, so why bother?

One of my all time most favourite ever teams was eliminated. Margie and Luke were such a formidable team and I’m devastated to see them eliminated this early on. That moment when the Indian men clapped and lifted Luke at the Roadblock was heartwarming yet heartwarming at the same time. I had hoped they would be the first parent child team to win the Race, but it seems that my favourites don’t always excel in all star seasons (John Vito and Jill were one of my favourites in Season 11).

So I guess my favourites now come down to Gary and Mallory. I’ve got to say, despite desperately hoping that they were going to be eliminated, I admired Flight Time and Big Easy’s attitude to Margie and Luke on this leg. They showed great respect for the racers and for the Race itself.

Now I ask: Will Kisha and Jen be next? 4 of the 5 teams from S14 have been the first 4 eliminated, perhaps the last S14 team standing will be the next ones off?

I guess it’s just as well that there will be a 2 week break before the next episode: everytime I see my favourites eliminated, I get in to such a bad mood that I can’t even think about the Race without being annoyed and sad.

I’ll miss Margie and Luke, but the Race must go on!

Jaime and Cara were eliminated from tonight’s Amazing Race.I am very disappointed, but at least I still have Margie and Luke to root for.

These are my favourites too! :D

Geez,I can’t believe I will no longer see the Red Hairs. It’s time to root for Gary and Mallory now then.

Whoo Another Jaime and Cara fan, but to be honest, I still like Kent and Vyxsin…

So, Margie and Luke didn’t use the U-Turn. I admit, I was shocked, but glad that they finished in 3rd with the ability to use the U-Turn later on if there is one. I’m cheering for this team harder now that Jaime and Cara have been eliminated (3 teams eliminated and all from S14!). Yes, I was one of those few people who counted the redheads among their favourite teams.

Was it just me or did anybody else think that the backing music on this week’s Idol was too loud? I felt as if the singers’ voices were being drowned out by the music. Which was a shame because there was some pretty good performances. Although he isn’t my favourite, I thought that Casey’s version of “Smell’s Like Teen Spirit” was pretty spot on, even it was somewhat strangled by the volume of the music. Perhaps I’m just losing it.

I’ve never really watched Idol that much before but I’m really enjoying this season so far. I suppose it is typical that I have to wait to watch the shows I like just because I’m stuck with being in Britain yet having a passion for American reality television.

Quick recap:

Episode One: Yay for Gary and Mallory! Maybe Amanda and Kris will survive this U-Turn. Sort of glad (though surprised) the Cowboys struggled - I have my favourites and these guys are a serious threat. Nervous for Margie and Luke - not such a great start. Vyxsin’s timidness comes as a surprise, I always thought she was the tougher one.

So, to people who read this: yes, I realise I’m a bit late to just be beginning my blogging rants about the new season, but I’m catching up!

Here are my strongest reactions when I discovered the teams that would race again:

A video edited by me. My top teams. Yes there are 19 of them, I know, but I do like them so much. If I had to be really ruthless and narrow it down to my top, bestest ever, most favouritest teams, it would consist of:

Linda and Karen (Season 4), Dustin and Kandice (Season 10), Toni and Dallas (Season 13) and Margie and Luke (Season 14). Yup, two all female teams and two mother/son teams. I guess I love my female friends and my mother a lot! These are the four teams that, when they finished their race, got me emotional.
